I’m pleased to be now offering in-person and online lessons formats!
As a music educator, my passion lies in helping each student discover and develop their own unique, individual sound using a joyful and compassionate learning process. As a fellow lifelong learner, I teach students of all ages and levels.
My voice specialization includes, but is not limited to, jazz and pop styles. Voice students learn how to approach jazz and pop repertoire with genre-appropriate technique, delivery, and interpretation. Jazz students learn improvisational skills, including paraphrasing and scat soloing, how to read and create lead sheets, and arranging skills. I apply the principles of Somatic Voicework (TM) in my studio and have completed extensive training in teaching all contemporary commercial music styles.
I teach piano lessons from beginner to intermediate levels. Piano students discover a wide range of repertoire and styles, from classical to popular music.
I equip all students with concrete musical tools and knowledge, including technique, theory, ear training, sight reading, sight singing, and improvisation so they can take their creativity and love of music forward with freedom and confidence.
I teach my composition and arranging students to explore and develop skills such as line writing, melodic and harmonic development, voicings, form study and application, and voice leading. Students study and analyze scores, and learn the basics of music engraving. I offer coaching for songwriting, including idea generating tools and lyric development.
